Welcome to the Philippines!
Long-live to an annual event that has fostered understanding, respect, and tolerance to the wonderful diverse multicultural landscape of Saskatchewan.
The City of Saskatoon proclaimed June 12, 2010 as Filipino-Canadian Day. As the Filipino Community continues to grow, we once again have the opportunity to share our heritage with the City of Saskatoon. With our volunteers' hard work and dedication, we have showcased Filipino's unique cultural heritage for you every year since 1980 with uninterrupted participation.
Philippines is a country in South East Asia comprising of 7,107 islands. The Philippines is categorized broadly into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao; the capital city is Manila.
To bring our country to you, on centre stage is Kumintang Folk Ensemble as they present traditional dances of the Philippines, and The Sto. Nino Choir as they present Filipino folk songs. Our entertainment will reflect on the tradition, the customs, the costumes, and historical evolution of the Philippines.
These influences also translate into unique culinary offerings: Adobo/Marinated Chicken Stew, Pansit Bihon/Fried Noodles, Inihaw/ Pork BBQ, Sinangag/Fried Rice, and Lumpia/Egg Roll.
Try our famous San Miguel Beer - discover why it is the #1 beer in the Philippines, and why it is popular around the world. Remember to check out our variety of imported goods in our Tiange/ Marketplace.
